An icy playground has finally arrived in Central Florida.
SeaWorld Orlando opened the highly anticipated attraction Antarctica: Empire Of The Penguin to rave reviews.
The new section of the nautical theme park is located near Journey To Atlantis and the Kraken roller coaster.
When you approach the icy themed area of the park, you notice towering glaciers and you hear howling winds, just as you would in Antarctica.
Then as you venture further into the land, you start to see signs of life. Penguins begin to appear into the ice formations.
At the opening of the attraction, guests are greeted by a mother and father penguin who are waiting for their little bundle of joy to hatch before the approaching blizzard.
Just in time, Puck makes his appearance and the family waddles to safety inside a cave.
What many guests don’t realize, is that along your venture deeper into the attraction, the air gets cooler and drier. This is to prepare guests for the 30 degree climate inside the Penguin habitat.
Eventually after venturing further into the cave, guests board ride vehicles that take them on either a “mild” or “wild” journey into the Empire of the Penguin.
After a whimsical ride through the icy, and chilling cave, guests arrive at the Penguin habitat where you experience 30 degree temperatures and 250 penguins!
What’s unique about this habitat is that SeaWorld is actually imitating the climate of the South Pole, so whatever the weather is in Antarctica, SeaWorld imitates the same climate inside the habitat.
